- About Me
- I'm happily married to Darrel for 9 years, and we have been together for going on 14 years. We have a beautiful daughter, Morgan, who is 5 years old. I am full-time student at Eastern Michigan University. I'm majoring in English and History, with a minor in Anthropology.
I love to cook and bake. I want to try doing a version of Julie & Julia but with Alton Brown's recipes. ;-) I also love to crochet, scrapbook, and otherwise be crafty. I am trying my hand at writing (friends always figured I would be an author by now).
I'm still dealing with the loss of both my parents to cancer in the last 5 years (19 months and 2 days apart). My father passed away 2 days before Morgan was born and my mom passed away on Morgan's 19th month birthday. I was so very lucky to have had the time I had with them. I have no regrets other than they aren't here anymore. I have my good days and then I have my not so good days. I was able to have my mom here at my home and holding her hand as she passed away. My parents and I were very close and there's huge hole in my heart now...but I can look at Morgan and see both of them in her at times and I smile because I know they are still here with us.
What else can I say about myself? I'm lucky to have 3 wonderful best friends (Bridget, Kimmy, and Elly). They are my strength, my personal 'Jimney Crickets', my diaries (no black-mailing, ya'll--I know too much!), and my soul-mates.
I love being a mommy. I have wanted to have children since I was a little girl. Morgan is my favorite wish come true.
I have a few pet-peeves. I hate gossip, cruel rumors, hateful and judgmental people, cruelness to children and animals, and really bad music (haha). I am a perfectionist and anal about certain things. I have always been set in my ways.
I'm passionate and affectionate. I love with all my heart, but I don't love easily, but when I do love, I do forever.
I wish I could do more with my time during the day...don't know where it all goes. May be playing with Morgan...:)
I have my demons, but I keep them chained up in my closet...hehehe. I am the first one to admit that I'm not perfect. I try so very hard not to judge or make fun of others. The key word there was TRY.
