It's true! I'm going to write a book. I'm so thrilled. I can't believe how incredible this journey has been. I know it's a little early for thank yous but I couldn't help myself. Special thanks to my friends and family who have supported me throughout this. My kids for being my inspiration. My husband for making me laugh and keeping me on my toes. Mom and big bro you gave me the best most amazing unconventional childhood and I would not have wanted it any other way. My best friend Tori since I was two, I have never had a time in my life that was without you. I love you. Jane you know what you mean to me. You asked me daily when I was going to write a book, well, it's time. Hillary I love you my friend. Jack Gray and CNN thank you. Gina and Charles you are the best! Demi and Ashton, thank you for inspiring me on this journey. You forever give me courage and strength.

Andy your support to bring this to life has been truly incredible! You saw it the way that it was meant to be, thank you for believing in me.

Carrie and all of my new friends at Dutton thank you for making me a part of the family! Now let's make a great book.

To all of you in the Moonfrye community, please share your ideas about stories you would love to hear. From parenting to life questions. You are as much a part of this book as anyone.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Carrie Thornton, Executive Editor for Dutton (a division of Penguin) has just signed Soleil Moon Frye’s first book HAPPY CHAOS, tentatively slated for Summer 2011. The book will be a combination memoir/manual, chronicling stories from Soleil’s own unconventional childhood growing up in the limelight as a child star, and thematically linked anecdotes from her experiences as a parent of two young daughters. As Soleil says “I’m nostalgic and love talking about my childhood and family so what better platform to share with others than a book close to my heart.”

It could be interesting to hear how you feel about having you're children in movies and tv as compared to your experience growing up?

This will be an interesting book for me as I was so devoted to your show as a kid, I'd love to hear some behind the scene experiences of working on Punky Brewster, and being a child that so many children would recoginize. I love the 80's, we're lucky to have been kids during that time era. I'd be interested in any thoughts a former child of the 80's thinks about raising their kids in the 00's, whether we had it better or if we think our kids now have better childhoods overall. (I think we had it better, less technology, more opportunity to play outdoors and explore, and less paranoia in society.) Have fun writing!
