Reading the Moonfrye blog, we can’t help but think of family. Many mothers are members, talking about their children and sharing how they care for them. We’ve read posts about feeding kids, taking kids places and even seen how to wil’ out dancing with kids. However, we’ve yet come across an article on the importance of dressing kids.

Sure, giving your kids wholesome vegetables and taking them to the playground are essential to molding their bodies and spirits, but what’s an amazing little body and spirit without knowing a certain crucial form of everyday artistic expression?
Fashion is an underestimated art. It should be nurtured like little Suzy’s knack at coloring within the lines, or little Tommy’s ability to build a dope Lego fortress. If you, Mommy, instill style at a young age, just like learning a foreign language, it will be embedded from early on and stick with them for a lifetime. And hey, you never know, dress your kids right, and they may grow up to be fashion designers.

We’ve peppered this entry with pictures of us from way back in the 80s to thank our own mothers for dressing us this way. Without their keen eye for juvie style, we wouldn’t have the inspiration we have today. As you can see below, every childhood encouragement manifests itself down the road, so keep commending Suzy and Tommy on their art. And throw a nice shirt on them while you’re at it.
