This blog is by Carrie Lopez, one of our wonderful Moonfrye members.

I am totally on a Anti-Box movement . This means no processed or boxed food - everything is made from scratch. It has really brought my family closer together in the kitchen. We are learning together how to make cakes, brownies, and spaghetti noodles. Yes, we are going Vegetarian and while I'm a little nervous that I may pack on a few extra pounds, the wholesome home cooked meals made with love are good for my kids and that is what is important to me. I am finding recipes to make our own everything! Yes, there are some things that I have to buy, but for the most part, everything is 100% organic and clean. This has opened up a whole new world to my children who now enjoy our home grown strawberries and try new things like star fruit. Of course, I allow them the occasional slip of ice cream or something to fulfill their sweet tooths, but for the most part, we are all sticking to it!

I have also learned how simple it is to cook from scratch. I think that I was brainwashed before to believe that if it came in a box, it was easier to make, however, we forget that there are still steps to follow when making the Mac and Cheese from a box! It takes just as much time to make it fresh from scratch! We also forget the pure nature of the foods that are made and grown in our own homes. Do you find a difference in foods organically grown or chemically preserved?
